The Mysterious Case of the Missing B12
I learned something shocking recently. When I went vegan almond milk became a big part of my diet. I particularly loved Silk brand above the others because it was fortified with B12. And all non-meat eaters are quite aware of the fact that this is the one essential vitamin which cannot be obtained from non-meat sources other than supplements. You need to either take a vitamin, use nurtional yeasts or get it from fortified foods. So Silk including it in their milk was convenient and appreciated. Then I started having all these unusual cravings for chicken and beef which I didn't understand. Cause if I do get cravings it's usually for ice cream or muffins. But here I was dying to put some chicken in my mouth. And quite ashamed of it. I didn't know it then, but I later discovered the problem.
